All training techniques used by The Canine & Co Classroom are scientifically proven and ethics/welfare motivated. As such, in the interest of safety, responsibility and welfare, it is important that the following terms and conditions are noted. Occasionally, our service may be unfit for the owner or pet’s requirements. Full discussion over the best way to proceed will be undertaken and this may result in us making alternative arrangements to assist you, referring on, or ceasing our service for you. By making a booking, using the above form, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and fully accept our terms and conditions as detailed below:
1. Harsh handling is not permitted and is strongly discouraged at any other time. As such; choke chains, check chains, prong collars, punitive methods and manhandling are not allowed.
2. We make every effort to ensure safety of both clients and dogs during sessions. By making a booking, you are accepting that participating poses a risk of injury to yourself and/or your dog, and you agree to indemnify The Canine & Co Classroom for all personal injury and damage to property while attending the training sessions. You also agree to make any person who accompanies you to any sessions are aware that they are also there at their own risk.
3. Due to the nature of the service provided; training, management and/or routine changes may be suggested to encourage results. Please be aware, success can be slow and digressing from professional advice may hinder this further.
4. Dogs attending training sessions should be fully vaccinated and up to date with their boosters (Canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, leptospirosis, infectious canine hepatitis [we do not consider homeopathic solutions an acceptable alternative to conventional vaccines for young puppies]). Due to the nature of the industry, we hold no responsibility if your pet becomes sick whilst working with The Canine & Co Classroom in either a private or public space.
5. If you are unsure whether to bring your dog to a training session, whether because of illness or otherwise, please do not hesitate to call The Canine & Co Classroom or speak with your Veterinary surgeon. Please note that cancellation within 24hrs of the service or no-shows will incur a £30.00 admin fee. This applies to all our services (consults, training and classes). If the training or consultation form is incomplete and/or not returned within 48 hours of the service, the session will be cancelled, and you will be charged the above cancellation fee.
By engaging the services of The Canine & Co Classroom, the Client agrees that all information provided regarding their animal’s behaviour, history, and any relevant circumstances is truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of their knowledge.
Client Disclosure and Honesty
6. The Client acknowledges that withholding, misrepresenting, or failing to disclose pertinent details, such as previous aggression, medical conditions, or behavioural concerns, may pose a significant risk to the safety of the practitioner, the Client, the animal, and others.
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all animal owners and keepers have a legal duty of care to ensure the welfare of their animals and to prevent harm to others. In the case of dogs, the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and related legislation impose additional responsibilities to prevent a dog from being dangerously out of control. Failure to provide full and honest disclosure may result in the immediate termination of services without refund, and The Canine & Co Classroom shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from such omissions. The Client accepts full responsibility for any legal repercussions that may arise from undisclosed behavioural issues or other relevant factors.
7. Due to the nature of the industry, refunds will not be given. We do not offer refunds once a session package has been purchased and the three-month period for using the sessions has begun. This policy is in place to ensure fair scheduling and commitment to the training process. We encourage clients to make sure they’re ready to commit before purchasing a package, and we’re happy to discuss any questions beforehand to help with that decision.
Session Packages
Once a training package has been purchased and the initial session has been booked, we do not offer refunds. Packages are valid for 3 months from the date of the first booked session. It is the client’s responsibility to schedule and attend sessions within this period. Unused sessions will not be refunded or carried forward unless previously agreed due to exceptional circumstances.
Individual Sessions
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
Group Classes
Full payment is required to secure a space. Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances.
Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unexpected things happen. If you’re unable to continue training due to a genuine emergency (e.g. illness, injury), please get in touch as soon as possible — we’ll always try to help where we can.
If you have any questions about our policy or need clarification, feel free to contact us directly.
